Workshop Overview:
In today’s research landscape, secondary data has become an invaluable resource for conducting impactful studies across a wide range of disciplines. The workshop will introduce participants to a diverse array of publicly available datasets, including resources from key Indian government ministries such as the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Agriculture…etc. Participants will also explore national surveys and databases, such as Census data, the National Family Health Survey, and data from the National Human Rights Commission…etc., providing a comprehensive understanding of domestic sources of secondary data. Indian databases such as the Reserve Bank of India, the National Data and Analytics Platform, NITI Aayog, the ICSSR database…etc. will also be explored, giving attendees a well-rounded toolkit for leveraging secondary data in their research.
In addition to national resources, the workshop will cover internationally recognized databases, offering a global perspective on secondary data. Participants will be introduced to authoritative platforms like the World Bank database, the United Nations database, and the Food and Agriculture Organization’s FAOSTAT database.
