Global Research & Training (GRT), New Delhi has consistently been at the forefront of strengthening research capacity through specialized training programs, hands-on workshops, and expert-led learning initiatives. In continuation of this mission, GRT is pleased to announce an upcoming online hands-on workshop titled “A Practical Guide to Academic Referencing Using Zotero: What, Where, and How?” This program is designed to enhance researchers’ understanding of academic referencing and citation practices while equipping them with practical skills to manage references efficiently using Zotero.
Program Overview:
In contemporary academic and scientific research, proper referencing is fundamental to maintaining research integrity, avoiding plagiarism, and ensuring the credibility of scholarly work. Despite its importance, many students and early-career researchers struggle with identifying what to reference, applying appropriate citation styles, differentiating between citations, references, and bibliographies, and managing references consistently across theses and research publications. These challenges are further compounded by limited exposure to reference management software and journal-specific referencing requirements.
Recognizing these challenges, Global Research & Training (GRT), New Delhi has designed this focused online workshop to bridge the gap between theoretical understanding and practical application of academic referencing. The program combines conceptual clarity with hands-on training using Zotero, enabling participants to organize literature systematically, insert in-text citations seamlessly, and generate accurate reference lists in accordance with standard referencing styles. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to apply correct referencing practices confidently in dissertations, research articles, and academic reports, thereby improving the overall quality and ethical standards of their research output.
